JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Student Affairs is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) for the MyResource Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) project - an interactive, online, student self-service information hub. The project is a key initiative supporting the President's efforts to remove barriers and simplify the collegiate experience as students navigate the University. The initiative includes three tiers: an AI-powered resource hub, a student-facing office space, and an opportunity to recommend additional resource support to the University. The BSA will play a pivotal role in the management of this new resource hub to guide its smooth operation and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.

The BSA will liaise between the technical staff and user groups, translating business needs into technical requirements. The person will also work closely with the MyResource team (Director, AI Integration Developer, Program Coordinator, and Project Manager) to optimize existing models and develop innovative solutions. The BSA must be a highly motivated professional who demonstrates initiative, can work independently with minimal supervision, and can work in a collaborative environment where they openly communicate and share insights.

Specific responsibilities include:

Systems Analysis, Maintenance, and Support

  • Gain and maintain a strong working understanding of WatsonX

  • Develop, analyze, document, maintain, and enhance new or current system processes and workflows

  • Develop and execute test plans and scripts, and other quality assurance measures; lead testing such as user acceptance, performance, security, accessibility, usability, etc.

  • Compile data from all tiers of MyResource to make decisions about the development of the resource that can be based on the data collected; display and analyze data

  • Provide technical guidance to the MyResource AI Integration Developer by helping them to make technical decisions, solve problems, and recommend enhancements

Process Improvement, Issue Resolution, and Industry Trends

  • Support the MyResource team members responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex system issues

  • Collect user feedback regarding system performance and work with the MyResource team to prioritize configuration requests

  • Develop and implement IT service strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Monitor and maintain IT service quality and standards, conducting regular reviews and audits

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in AI, foundation models, and large language models

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks for potential impact on solution design and implementation

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

  • Foster collaboration among the MyResource technical team, other University stakeholders, and vendors who are critical to the system's success

  • Maintain regular and direct communication with subject matter experts

  • Document solution architecture, design decisions, implementation details, and lessons learned

  • Initiate and maintain standard operating procedures and team documents

  • Develop and provide training, demonstrations, and regular communication to end-users

  • Encourage innovation and continuous learning among stakeholders

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's Degree plus three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proficiency with data analytics and Microsoft Office tools including but not limited to Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Planner

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a familiarity with IBM WatsonX or other generative AI tools and a willingness to learn; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and experience working with college students

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile SCRUM

The location of this position is flexible, allowing for full remote work within the United States, full-time in-person work at our University Park Campus, or a hybrid model combining both remote and in-person work. Standard working hours are based in the Eastern Time Zone. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
