Retail Market Operations Governance Analyst
The Retail Market Operations Governance Analyst implements the division's governance framework while effectively managing risk and compliance processes for the group, reporting to the Senior Manager National Operations and Governance. This role will lead the efforts to mitigate risk and improve compliance through prioritizing and delivering process improvements to automate and streamline activities. This role will partner effectively with key stakeholders to design creative solutions that balance risk mitigation with operational burden and cost, influencing peers and senior leaders to build buy in to implement solutions. This individual will take the lead on various governance, operations, compliance, and regulatory support initiatives representing Retail and will ensure the Retail organization is fully connected to the various operational and risk areas of the bank. This role will leverage an understanding of bank systems and processes to develop and maintain Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Operational Monitors.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Business Liaison to Technology/Enterprise Change:


  • Serve as Business Partner Owner for critical Retail applications.
  • Drive the engagement between Retail and Technology, within assigned areas - identifying new capabilities that would serve business needs and influencing the roadmap to deliver these new capabilities that automate manual processes, reduce risk, and deliver business value.
  • Drives the future direction and roadmap of product enhancements (i.e., Product Backlog) in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Define in detail what Retail needs from enhancements to Technology systems in order to fulfill business objectives.
  • Manages the financial implications for assigned areas, including development of business cases, expense tracking, and budgetary planning.


First Line Governance:


  • Participate in Risk & Control Self Assessments, serving as point person for Retail and coordinating the efforts of all SMEs in Retail.
  • Manage responses from Retail to Compliance Exams, Audits, and similar assessments.
  • Comply with existing governance structures that pertain to Retail, identifying areas for improvement and advocating for necessary changes.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust governance policies and procedures that to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards relating to Retail BCs and Small Business.
  • Ensure adherence to risk management protocols and procedures, mitigating potential risks within Retail BC operations.
  • Partner with Enterprise Compliance and Business Risk and Controls Office teams to assess, test, and monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with compliance officers and legal counsel to address regulatory issues and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal partners and stay abreast of emerging trends and regulatory developments.


Governance-Issues Management:


  • Issues Management - Lead the responses for all assigned Issues as the Issue Owner. Ensure that all issue remediations or risk acceptances are thoroughly documented, grounded in available data, and managed to closure within due dates.
  • Design innovative solutions and uses creative problem solving to deliver effective remediation plans on time and on budget.
  • Partner with Business Risk & Control Office to ensure that Issue response complies with enterprise policy, that milestone dates are met, and that remediation plans effectively address the risk.


Reporting and Analysis:


  • Design Operational Monitors within assigned areas, in partnership with the Business Risk and Control Office and various Data & Reporting teams.
  • Conduct impactful data analysis and trend forecasting to identify areas of improvement and inform strategic decision-making processes.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor 's Degree from Accredited University OR 4 years of relevant experience
  • 7 Years Financial Services experience
  • 5 Years Performing data OR financial analysis experience
  • 3 Years Operational Risk Management experience

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
