The Lead Maintenance Specialist is responsible for coordinating maintenance and Operations activities in an assigned area of the facility. This role coordinates and schedules daily maintenance activities by managing regulatory, project, production, and safety system activities to provide a productive maintenance program and to ensure the reliability of operating equipment. Supports area Turnarounds, Start-Ups, and Shutdowns by ensuring needed resources are available to support operations and maintenance and groups as needed. Interacts regularly with unit operators. Provides guidance and advice on unit maintenance and reliability. Listens actively to unit operators concerning reliability or equipment issues. Communicates effectively to schedule maintenance downtime to assure minimal impact to production. Interacts daily with area maintenance planners and schedulers to assure timely and effective completion of maintenance activities. What you will do: * Comply with all safety standards, policies and procedures increasereliability * Review and approve work requests and assigns appropriate priorities for maintenance work to be performed--this includes ensuring adequate information is included on the work request and work order etc. FSC36, SF/SF, etc.) as it applies to food grade and feed grade phosphate products manufactured at the Aurora site *Accountable for budgetary items and labor costs associated with scheduling * Responsible for the development and administration of both short and long term planning activities * Serve as primary liaison for assigned area *Responsible for compliance of predictive maintenance equipment, instruments, relief valves, interlocks, outage preparation, PSM requirements for Safety and Quality, Tap Roots, HAZOPS, Title V compliance, customer complaint audits and insurance audits, to ensure work is performed in a timely manner * Schedules and executes maintenance activities for process equipment for shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages * Responsible for communicating maintenance requirements to operations to ensure area work is prepared in a safe manner for maintenance activities What you will bring: *5-10 (minimum of 5) years' experience in operational/maintenance process area, along with 3 plus years in a supervisory role * Must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the chemical processes, mechanical equipment, and understanding of best maintenance practices *Prefer post-secondary education in vocational-technical school in maintenance technology or craft area *Ability to make difficult trade-offs (thinking through risks and rewards) around work prioritization decisions *Must have strong conflict resolution skills to ensure correct prioritization decision is made even if unpopular *Must display strong ownership to identify problems, collect data, establish key facts, draw valid conclusion and develop solutions *Ability to balance a number of different issues at the same time: PM compliance, backlog management, overtime levels, etc. *Ability to keep track of a frequently shifting set of to-do items that are a mix of immediate and long-term needs *Must be adaptive in leadership style to interact and communicate with subordinates, peers and management *Must be able to clearly explain their decision-making and be proactive on communication *Uses sound technical knowledge and judgment to develop and recommend solutions *Should be comfortable interacting with all levels of management and other employees *Ability to express their point-of-view with confidence to leadership Ready to make an impact with us?
