Description

Under general supervision, this position provides armed protection at FMP's headquarters, along with performing routine security services to ensure the safety, security of individuals, and property across multiple Factory Motor Parts facilities.

Schedule:

Fixed shifts are 10-12 hours, followed by multiple consecutive days off.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Security Monitoring Specialist will have expertise in the following areas and will be responsible for reporting and communication as directed by the Security Supervisor:



  • Provide physical security and customer service at FMP headquarters and events.
  • Support the investigation team by gathering video footage and documenting incidents.
  • Perform virtual patrols across all FMP locations by overseeing access control, alarms, and cameras.
  • Dispatch first responders to locations when needed.
  • Enforce and inform employees of security, safety, and fire protection policies.
  • Remotely verifying the buildings are locked and unlocked at scheduled times.
  • Monitor areas for suspicious activities, crimes, or safety violations.
  • Create employee IDs, assign alarm, camera, and card access to authorized personnel.
  • Professionally handle calls, gather information, and address concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and written.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Google Forms, and security software.
  • Proficient with cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Knowledge of state statutes, traffic laws, and security procedures.
  • Ability to write comprehensive factual reports.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems using deductive reasoning.
  • Knowledge of proper safety precautions and first aid techniques.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, mental alertness, and trustworthiness in dealing with situations.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information responsibly.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is primarily performed in a company office building and in certain circumstances may be done from home. Lifting requirements of up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis may be required. Wrist and finger manipulation due to computer work, calculating, compiling and filing. Equipment used may include but is not limited to computer, calculator, telephone, copy, scanner and fax machines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in a relevant field is a plus.
  • At least five years of proven experience in private security, military, or law enforcement roles.
  • Be available to work weekends, holidays, nights, and additional hours as required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (training provided by FMP).
  • Current MN permit to carry.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • No criminal history.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Capacity to make decisions under pressure and respond to emergencies.


Drug screen and background check administered as a condition of employment.
