Job Title - Full Stack Developer, Senior - Data Management

Job Summary - We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer, Senior who will play a critical role in data management, public/private portal maintenance, and program coordination, ensuring interoperability with existing federal research infrastructures, while maintaining compliance with security and data privacy standards (e.g., FISMA, HIPAA). This is a senior technical role requiring expertise in complex data systems, public and private portal development, secure and compliant cloud architectures, and bioinformatics data management standards.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management, Analysis, and Sharing



  • Architect, develop, and maintain a flexible, scalable data management system supporting storage, quality control, retrieval, visualization, and sharing of client program data.





  • Ensure compliance with data interoperability standards such as FAIR, and integrate with federal repositories (e.g., ImmPort, IEDB, CEIRR).





  • Develop software tools for meta-data and data collection, harmonization, tracking, updating, visualization, and analysis.





  • Implement secure de-identification, anonymization, and validation processes for human subject data according to HIPAA, Common Rule, and NIH policies.





  • Conduct advanced data analyses and develop integration pipelines for complex, diverse data sets.





  • Produce regular data quality reports and support advanced data mining for client investigators.



Portal Development and Maintenance



  • Establish, maintain, and enhance a client public/private portal with secure controlled access for data sharing and public engagement.





  • Build features for data browsing, reagent/sample tracking, SOP sharing, program status visualization, and publication aggregation.





  • Design and implement query tools to support data reporting, sample tracking, vaccine candidate tracking, and program coordination needs.



Quality Assurance and Interoperability



  • Design and implement automated quality control systems for all incoming data.





  • Maintain version control across all documentation, software, interfaces, and databases.





  • Adopt and enforce FAIR data-sharing guidelines, supporting dissemination to public databases.



Program Coordination and Communication Support



  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking vaccine candidate development, reagents, and sample sharing across client.





  • Provide technical support for working group and subcommittee coordination, meetings, and reporting.





  • Support client training initiatives by developing user guides, SOPs, and providing technical consultation on client resources.





  • Assist in scientific manuscript preparation by supplying technical figures, data extracts, and system documentation as needed.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, or a related technical field.





  • 8+ years experience in full stack development for secure, large-scale data management systems.





  • Experience integrating systems with federal repositories like ImmPort, IEDB, CEIRR, or other NIH-funded databases.





  • Familiarity with bioinformatics and life sciences research data.





  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).





  • Certification(s) in cloud architecture, cybersecurity, or full-stack development a plus,





  • Expertise in modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar) and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js, Django, Spring Boot).





  • Deep understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data architecture, including cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).





  • Experience designing interoperable systems that meet government data standards (e.g., FAIR, HIPAA, FISMA).





  • Strong background in designing user-friendly, secure web portals with access control.





  • Experience with data visualization libraries/tools (e.g., D3.js, Tableau, Power BI).





  • Proven ability to develop automated QA/QC workflows and data validation tools.





  • Strong experience documenting software systems, APIs, and data workflows following federal guidelines like DHHS EPLC.



Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $120,600 to $149,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $134,800 per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
