This position is CONTINGENT on contract award. Anticipated hiring period to start 6/1/2025 Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance. Processes the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Capable of performing, supervising and inspecting the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs. A person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required. Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. - Performs both on and off equipment maintenance.
- Performs Outer Mold Line (OML) inspections, coating system repair, and corrosion control inspections.
- Coordinates maintenance efforts with Maintenance Operation Center (MOC) to ensure timely return of aircraft to mission capable status.
- Plans and coordinates shop workload and dispatches personnel as required.
- Monitors the maintenance activities of assigned personnel.
- Ensure that assigned personnel have access to and use adequate technical data during all phases of aircraft maintenance.
- Ensures personnel are trained and practice good housekeeping, tool control, supply disciplines, FOD awareness/prevention, proper disposal of materials, and safety at all.
- Monitors the status of aircraft and coordinates efforts with subordinate personnel, and MOC.
- Monitors QC reports and ensures that corrective measures are implemented to improve maintenance quality and prevent the development of adverse trends.
- Conducts inspections of aircraft and system maintenance to ensure quality and completeness.
- Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records and is proficient in ALIS documentation.
- In coordination with the production supervisor and the training instructor, provides training to employees.
- Reviews training products for accuracy and schedules personnel for required training.
- Assists assigned personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components and in determining reparability and serviceability.
- Reviews aircraft and equipment records and work cards to ensure required maintenance has been performed, hourly and calendar tracked events are current, and all associated documentation has been completed.
- Plans and coordinates wash, PMB, and paint schedules.
- Establishes a sound corrosion program. Inspects completed work and evaluates employee performance.
- Monitors safety compliance.
- Provides supervisor and evaluation of employee performance and recommends actions to improve employee performance.
- Coordinates section activities in the absence of the production supervisor.
- May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections.
- Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed.
- Shall perform other duties as directed to include TDY and travel.
- Must be able to work day-shift, night-shift, or weekend duty as required.

Required Qualifications |
- 5 years of recent DoD aircraft structures repair and corrosion control experience.
- 3 years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable DoD aircraft maintenance technical directives, instructions, and programs.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft structures maintenance and fixed-wing aircraft systems.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.

- Must have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment.
- Must have DoD Aircraft Corrosion Control certification or civilian equivalent
- Must have held previous CDQAR, USAF 7-level, or civilian equivalent qualification.
- Must have current Secret security clearance or be able to obtain Secret clearance by your start date.

Preferred Qualifications |
- 15 years of Organization level maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA).
- Thorough knowledge of NAVAIR instructions and Naval Aviation Maintenance Programs (NAMP).
- Previous Safe for Flight certified.
- 5 years of experience working on KC-130s
