PROCUREMENT EXPEDITER

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under direct supervision, the Procurement Expediter will ensure the timely delivery of materials, products, and services from suppliers. This role will track orders, communicate with vendors, and support the procurement and production teams in maintaining schedule commitments. This role is essential in minimizing lead times and preventing disruptions in supply.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers and vendors to obtain updates on order status.
  • Proactively identify potential delays or issues and work with vendors and internal teams to resolve them.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of order status, delivery schedules, and shipment details.
  • Coordinate with receiving, inventory, and production departments to confirm deliveries and address discrepancies.
  • Escalate critical delays or supply chain disruptions to the Buyers and assist in developing recovery plans.
  • Assist buyers and procurement staff with data entry, order updates, and administrative tasks.
  • Update Reports on order status, late deliveries.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in expediting and supply chain processes.
  • Flex to support the Material Control Department in peak times with kitting, receiving, duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED and 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related field
  • Previous experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain support is a plus.
  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments, especially in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain support
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint)
  • Basic understanding of procurement processes and terminology (e.g., POs, lead times, delivery terms)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Ability to traverse manufacturing facility
