Position Overview

This job will be based remotely in the US.

The Sr. Manager, Generator Systems, NA is responsible for overseeing the health of our generator systems, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is performed efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing excellent service to our customers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Subject Matter Expert: Oversee the daily operations of the North American generator portfolio. This includes maintenance implementation and standardization.

  • Maintenance and Repair: Ensure that all generator maintenance and repair work is performed to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

  • Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise and ensuring that they are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.

  • Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of parts and equipment, ensuring that all necessary materials are available when needed.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations and standards.

  • Manufacturer Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with all our generator manufacturers to ensure we are receiving up to date and on time Field Service Bulletins and Field Defect Notices from them.

Duties

  • Create an information pathway to ensure we get all updated notices. (Work with Procurement and BizOps) We should be receiving every FSB/FDN past, present, and future.

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress and address any issues.

  • Prepare and manage the department's budget.

  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.

  • Design maintenance programs to enhance equipment operability and efficiency while minimizing life cycle costs.

  • Design maintenance programs to minimize maintenance complexity and reduce maintenance down time.

  • Understand potential equipment failures and provide full technical support to Facility Operations teams in the event of a critical system failure.

  • Perform system component upgrades as required to ensure reliability and combat obsolescence.

  • Validate maintenance performance by analyzing trends, operational history, and maintenance data

  • Provide systems reliability and maintainability feedback to the Design Engineering teams for future design considerations.

  • Work with Design Engineering and Construction teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.

  • Review construction equipment submittals, identify potential deficiencies, and evaluate maintenance feasibility.

  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in generator service or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

  • Data Center experience is strongly preferred, but not required

  • Strong knowledge of generator systems, components, and applications

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools

  • Travel required is expected to be 25 to 50%, but may increase over time as the business evolves

Additional Details

* Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000 + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

* This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

* Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
