Job Description

Cox Automotive is looking for a Engineering Manager to join our Manheim Vehicle Services leadership team. This person would provide leadership and oversight to the Software Engineering group. Oversees team efforts to apply the principles of secure software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of software and cloud infrastructure. Engages with cross-functional leadership to understand business requirements, architecture and technology direction and evaluate alternative approaches, ensuring software and systems are designed accordingly. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts and practices to facilitate system functionality, scalability, resilience and security, as well as ease-of-use (developer / user experience). Ensures appropriate application of agile principles to software development with a focus on delivery of business value, collaboration and continuous improvement.

As a Engineer Manager at Cox Automotive you will:

  • Oversees Software Engineering processes and teams.
  • Provides support and engage in the planning and delivery of product / solution releases.
  • Ensures delivery of secure, high quality, well tested and scalable software to meet requirements of the customer and business.
  • Prioritize and maintain the KTLO backlog and maintain a healthy KTLO roadmap to sustain the security and stability of our products.
  • Assists with maintenance and prioritization of the product backlog.
  • Engages with customers, end users and business partners to understand issues with software development and deployment.
  • Ensures issues are resolved in a timely and sustainable fashion.
  • Advocates secure coding practices and testing requirements.
  • Ensures the teams are setup for success.
  • Provides timely feedback (both positive and constructive) to team members.
  • Builds a culture of supportive team, pride in ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Provides and supports good engineering practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field with at least 1 year experience in a management or lead role; or a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; or PhD and 1 year experience or 10 years' experience in a related field.
  • Foundational skills in analytical thinking, business acumen, requirements analysis, software installation and support and technology savvy
  • Foundational skills in building partnerships, engaging others, guiding team success, leading change and leading with vision.
  • Other duties as needed or required.
  • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements.
  • Working knowledge of AWS


Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Broad AWS platform skills including EKS, Cognito, WAF, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, S3, Systems Manager
  • Experience automating Terraform/CDK at scale
  • Experience with Database Server infrastructure (RDS, MySQL, Postgres, etc)
  • GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Dart/Flutter, NodeJS. CDK and/or Pega platform a plus.


USD 119,600.00 - 199,400.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $119,600.00 - $199,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
