Location Address: 600 Vista Drive, Sparta, Tennessee 38583 Work Shift: 8hr-1st Shift 6a-2:30p Sparta (United States of America) The mold technician is responsible for setting molds and dies, and setting up and adjusting compression, injuection, and transfer machines used to mold plastic materials to specified shape according to blueprints and designs. Essential Function - Roles/Responsibilities Reads specifications to determine machine setup and prescribed temperature and time settings. Positions, aligns, and secures assembled mold or mold components, and machine accessories, onto machine press bed, according to guide marks, using hoist, power tools, and hand tools. Attaches connecting lines, for example air, oil, or water to mold, and adjusts controls to regulate mold temperature. Sets machine controls and turns dials to regulate specified machine forming pressure and plastic curing time in mold. Starts machine to produce sample product. Measures and visually inspects sample product for surface and dimensional defects, using microscope, micrometer, and gauges, and adjusts machine setup to eliminate defects. May also repair and maintain machines and auxiliary equipment, using hand tools and power tools. May also be designated according to type of machine set up as Compression-Molding-Machine Setter (plastic industry), Injection-Molding-Machine Setter (plastics prod ) High School Degree, GED, or equivalent 2+ years blow molding or similar manufacturing experience *Altium Packaging, Our Culture Differentiates Us!* We incorporate our Guiding Principles into all aspects and at all levels of the organization and use them as a framework for decision-making.
