Overview

Responsible for data procurement, optimization, and developing the analytics and insights from a proprietary marketing business solution that is designed to write and retain targeted business that will contribute to Selective's profitable growth strategy. Explore opportunities to generate operational efficiencies and create stronger engagement with our product teams, regional and agency partners. Must collaborate closely with Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Actuarial, Marketing and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure success. Utilize new technologies to continually improve efficiency and business impact of the program. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director, MarketMax to develop new, efficient processes for data procurement. Explore data sources to enhance our current datamart to deliver additional business insights and impact, specifically considering the various strategies supporting specific Product Teams.
  • Understand emerging trends, headwinds and tailwinds that impact our business and collaborate to create custom MarketMax solutions through the extraction of data, analysis, and subsequent insights. Optimize processes and leverage data and technology to increase the business impact of this program and platform.
  • Work with Marketing partners and the field to communicate the program benefits to our distribution partners and underwriting/sales force to drive awareness, enrollment, engagement and utilization to drive meaningful year over year improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with business partners to understand the market opportunity and pain points across all major segments (Commercial Lines/Personal Lines/Flood/Excess & Surplus), finding ways to move in-appetite controlled and new business to our books by designing, building, and deploying a data rich platform with an improved user experience.
  • Partner to create the reports and interface that allow users to quickly and easily consume data and make critical decisions. Continue to collect user feedback to make additional enhancements to improve the reporting and UI/UX.
  • Develop and maintain the MarketMax hub to ensure users have easy access to contract forms, instructional videos, educational reports and other key information needed to support usage of the program and platform. Create a process to ensure these materials are kept current, communicated to users, and tracked to ensure usage.
  • Responsible for creating a compelling business case to reflect the benefit payback of MarketMax in a short-term and long-term view.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators that are vetted by key stakeholders and create a consistent communication plan to ensure business leaders have access to concise, structured, and professional reports and communications which accurately reflect the program's impact.
  • Partner with consultants, external data suppliers and other external vendors, ensuring efficient workflows and utilization of budget to advance the data quality and completeness of MarketMax.
  • Continually look for new use cases to expand the use cases of MarketMax by staying abreast of changes in our operating model, the market, technology, and user/agent/customer behavior. Travel represents approximately 10% of employee's time and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Requirements

  • Strong marketing and communication skills

  • Demonstrates a balanced approach of risk-taking and innovation with positive business benefits.
  • Excel skills and ability to work in data-rich platforms to identify insights.
  • Knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance industry, specifically the Independent Agency distribution model, preferred.
  • Ability to understand organizational strategic goals and prioritize actions accordingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate with, consult with, and influence various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to convey and connect both technical concepts and business context in a clear and concise manner.
  • Capable of managing the position's operational and administrative duties.
  • Must have valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, or marketing preferred. MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance, marketing, or analytics with a track record for successful execution in a B2B or B2C distribution model.
  • Insurance industry experience a plus.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
