Summary:

Oversees all Cerner Revenue Cycle applications; providing proactive analysis, workflow. recommendations, and technical design in a highly integrated environment. This position requires a full understanding of the architecture of each application, and the ability to define and implement integration efforts across venues. In addition to managing daily application support, this role will serve in a consultative manner working with systems analysts, business office staff, and hospital administration to design efficient workflows that improve revenue generation across the organization. This role must also provide comprehensive data analytics and should follow current trends in healthcare finance to design and implement reports, in collaboration with Executive Management, that support financial metrics and key performance indicators. An intricate understanding of the Cerner database build is needed to provide thorough recommendations, troubleshooting and issue resolution, design, build, and maintenance of the Cerner EMR solutions across the organization. Candidates should have a strong experience and understanding of all Cerner Revenue Cycle Solutions, specifically Patient Accounting and Charge Services, as well as an understanding of finance and accounting. Cerner Command Language (CCL) for script writing is highly desirable. Ability to troubleshoot issues related to these applications; this includes evaluation of potential risks and defects, analyzing specifications and customizations, and providing recommendations on disaster recovery, data integrity, security of the applications, and alternative resolutions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide experience and expertise with and able to consult on any/all Model workflows applicable to the Rogers Behavioral Health, including but not limited to, Experian, pre-billing claims workflows, claims follow up workflows including denial management, cash posting workflows.

  • Able to actively participate and provide recommendations on key RevCycle metric improvements, including DNFB Days, CCR, AR Days.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of any configuration tools for desired outcomes in the Cerner Patient Accounting space, including pft tools, ProFit Claim Manager, ProFit Business Manager, and RevCycle Maintenance as it relates to design and build.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with project timelines and expectations including Agile for design, build and testing. In addition, the Patient Accounting Architect should be familiar with support processes for the Patient Accounting solution.
  • Assists in organizational change management, helps end users identify opportunities for improvements, and is accountable for achieving targeted outcomes.

Additional Job Description:

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field, information technology, a related field, or 4 years equivalent work experience required. Masters' degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in Cerner Patient Accounting and related workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer focus, proficiency, leadership ability, and professional integrity.
  • Self-starter attitude; comfortable with working independently.
  • Electronic medical record software experience, with Cerner.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
