We are looking for a Full-stack Engineer to design and execute our company's modern software development strategy. You will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of insurance applications in the cloud. You will be responsible for the development of applications in various areas of insurance such as underwriting, risk, pricing, and more using modern programming languages to be hosted on cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc. You will be responsible for the design and deployment of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems. You will also be responsible for the evaluation of key attributes of existing application architectures, evolution and enhancements to the infrastructure, product ideation and technology stack selection, and working with other engineers to define execution architectures and strategies.

The individual should have at least 3-4 years of hands-on application development experience ranging from front-end to back-end technologies and stacks with good experience in designing, developing, and operationalizing cloud-native applications using Agile methodologies.

What you'll Do:

  • Mentor other engineers on the team by giving technical guidance and performing code reviews.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with product owners and team members to build industry-leading solutions.
  • Participate as a team member in planning the architecture and development of solutions.
  • Design and build the next generation of Insurance applications in the cloud.
  • Research and identify best practices both from an architecture & security perspective.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with team to identify and address problems.
  • Participate in scrum teams working on short sprints and ensure on time delivery with high quality.
  • Create and maintain project documents and artifacts to capture the current state.

What You'll Bring:

  • Broad knowledge in web-based application development using modern tools and technology.
  • In-depth understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JS, Java with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent working experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, task managers (Jenkins, Grunt, Gulp, Bamboo, etc.), and build automation in general.
  • 3+ year relevant experience in REST-ful APIs creation.
  • 3+ year experience with Node.js and/or SpringBoot frameworks.
  • 3+ year relevant experience with various types of databases.
  • High level understanding of Amazon Web Services like AWS CloudFormation, AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, AWS DynamoDB, AWS SWF, AWS Cognito, AWS APIGateway etc.
  • Experience using Atlassian tool sets: Jira, Confluence.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development methodology.
  • Experience implementing projects through the QA process.
  • Strong analytical skills and analytical thinking are needed.
  • Amazon Web Services certified candidates will be preferred.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Master's degree in CS/related field strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of industry experience as a software engineer/developer.
  • Solid understanding of agile application development methodologies and release management activities.
  • Experience with IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) or PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) implementations will be preferred.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$82,500-$140,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
