Job Summary The Route (Relief) Driver is responsible for operation of a grease collection truck to collect cooking oil, a fat and bone collection truck for removal of raw material from customer locations, and a pump truck to collect waste cooking oil. The Relief Driver will be responsible for covering vacation and maintaining, installing and removing in field equipment at customer locations. - Pump or load grease containers; ensure cleanliness of container and surrounding area; return container with screen and lock secured; notes any damages to container or corral area; properly complete route ticket with customer signature.
- Collect and inspect raw material at time of pick up for any foreign or hazardous material at customer location (Local Runs).
- Maintain the required Electronic DOT log.
- Provide customer with receipt of pick-up and obtains signature of management at location. Maintain excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
- Responsible for company vehicle; conducting all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observe all company safety rules.
- Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc.) on a daily basis.
- Responsible for covering established route as assigned.
- Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
- Responsible for maintenance on containers in use at customer locations; must obtain location manager's approval of work completed.
- Notes any damage or problems with containers and relays such information to supervisor.
- Maintains supply inventory of both new and reconditioned tanks in inventory.
- Cleans truck, old containers, and general work area as required to meet sanitation standards.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- CDL Class A with tanker endorsement required.
- Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience operating a commercial vehicle, straight truck, tractor trailer and/or tanker preferred.
- Experience with truck hydraulics a plus.
- Experience with pressure washers and fork lifts is a plus.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Team player; works well with others.
- Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
- Good math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently lift, push, pull or carry up to 100 lbs.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
- Required to work outdoors in varying weather (rain, hot, humid, cold).
