Position Summary:

Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plating Team Lead to oversee and coordinate daily operations in our plating department at our Power Solutions Group facility in Rolling Meadows. This role is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality plating processes while maintaining compliance with NADCAP and AS9100 standards and internal specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on plating experience, leadership capabilities, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Help coordinate and execute the daily production activities of the plating team.

  • Ensures work is performed efficiently and in compliance with company standards and customer specifications.

  • Monitor and maintain process parameters for various plating operations (e.g., electroplating, anodizing, passivation, etc.).

  • Ensure all plating operations comply with NADCAP and other industry-specific regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in preparing for and participating in NADCAP audits, internal audits, and customer visits.

  • Train, mentor, and support plating team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Review work orders, process instructions, and job travelers for accuracy and completeness.

  • Conduct inspections to ensure product quality and consistency throughout the plating process.

  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure traceability of plated parts.

  • Identify process improvements and work collaboratively with engineering and quality teams to implement solutions.

  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on plating experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

  • Experience with NADCAP standards and compliance is required. Strong understanding of plating techniques and surface finishing processes.

  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process sheets.

  • Familiarity with quality systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to product quality and process accuracy.

  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • May be exposed to chemicals and fumes in a controlled environment (PPE provided).

The hiring rate expected for this position is $20.50 - $25.50 hourly, depending on experience and knowledge of the selected candidate.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
