The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an exceptional Financial Analyst to join our high-performing Financial Planning & Analysis team. In this role, you will support complex financial initiatives, develop models that influence institutional priorities, and support the development of executive-level presentations that shape University strategy. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis & Modeling
    Analyze financial performance by comparing actual results with forecasts and benchmarks. Develop financial models to evaluate key drivers, identify trends, and guide resource allocation.
  • Strategic Forecasting
    Contribute to the University's forecasting and long-range planning. Evaluate institutional risks, opportunities, and business drivers to support informed decision-making.
  • Executive Reporting
    Supports the development of polished, data-rich presentations and dashboards for senior leadership and the Board of Trustees.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Engage with leaders across academic and administrative departments to gather insights, validate assumptions, and support enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Ad Hoc Projects
    Participate in strategic projects and respond to emerging analytical needs with actionable insights.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field is required
  • Master's degree or MBA is a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in financial forecasting and modeling
  • Experience working in large, complex organizations; higher education experience preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, lookup functions, scenario modeling)
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, with experience building executive-ready presentations
  • Experience with ERP and planning systems (Workday highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting processes, and performance metrics
