Position Purpose







This individual is responsible for the oversight of the specialty pharmacy liaison staff, overseeing the day-to-day liaison work, and to assume a leadership role towards a goal of quality drug distribution and pharmacy services. This individual will work under the direct supervision of the pharmacy manager.









Nature and Scope







The Supervisor of Pharmacy Liaison will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, training, and scheduling of the specialty pharmacy liaisons. This includes the compilation of recording such activities as well as disciplinary follow up when necessary. In addition, the incumbent is to conduct liaison meetings on a regular basis and assist in the agenda preparation and planning of general staff meetings. This individual may also be required to attend other health system meetings representing the specialty pharmacy.

Intra-departmental activities, such as inventory ordering and billing procedures, will be done without the direct supervision of the pharmacist. Questions involving medications or therapeutics should be referred to the pharmacist. Good judgment is required when the technician gives other types of non-clinical information.

This position serves patients of all ages.

The incumbent may perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager.

Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the Pharmacy Liaison team, overseeing activities crucial to providing the highest quality patient experience in specialty clinics.

* Coach and develop the liaison team, fostering the Renown culture.

* Provide consistent, timely, and ongoing performance coaching, feedback, training, and development to liaison teams.

* Facilitate effective communication between liaisons, pharmacy, and clinic teams.

* Meet or exceed site operational targets related to clinic service, growth, patient satisfaction, and outcomes.

* Proactively identify and implement improvement initiatives at the specialty pharmacy to drive growth and efficiency.

* Engage with Renown leadership to ensure operational targets are met and drive growth and efficiency.

* Establish credible relationships, including clinic leadership and pharmacy teams up to Manager and Director levels.

* Ensure high satisfaction by proactively communicating the value of Renown's clinic operations team, addressing concerns responsively, and providing regular updates to clinic leadership.

* Provide performance updates to Renown leadership team.

* Ensure Specialty Liaison team accountability and the consistent use of best practices for critical responsibilities: prior authorizations, patient financial assistance, medication refills, patient appointments, and patient outreach.

* Ensure coverage for Specialty Liaisons when absent from work.

* Function as an effective problem-solver, working through barriers for success within clinics.

* Identify issues within a clinic and work with their manager to create tangible action plans to improve performance and ensure timely implementation of improvement efforts.

* Identify, assess, and contribute to continuous process improvement and optimization initiatives.

* Provide subject matter expertise to clinics within their span of control.

Description



Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.



Experience:



Minimum 5 years working in a healthcare or pharmacy environment as a pharmacy technician with direct patient and clinician contact required. A minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience preferred.



License(s):



Pharmacy Technician license by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy required at time of hire.



Certification(s):



National certification (CPhT) required a time of hire.



Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Word and have the ability to use the computer for online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
