The Enterprise Information Security (EIS) team is responsible for cybersecurity across our organization. We support our business and members by reducing risk, rapidly responding to threats, focusing on business resiliency and securing new acquisitions.

This position is responsible for leading all IT risk assessment and security consulting activities to assess the design, effectiveness and efficiency of the IT controls and compliance with laws and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Assists with the development and execution of Information Risk Governance department operations, methodology, technologies and tools. Helps drive continuous improvement efforts in alignment with direction provided by leadership and industry standards
  • Develop comprehensive remediation plans to reduce overall risk to our Enterprise
  • Oversee the remediation plans for suppliers to address identified IT risks and vulnerabilities within the supplier systems and ensure suppliers are remediating identified gaps timely
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers as well as internal leadership fostering communication channels to facilitate effective supplier management
  • Lead and direct cross-functional teams and manages large complex projects or segment teams to achieve critical business objectives while effectively reducing IT security Risk
  • Responsible for strategic oversight, coordination, and execution to ensure successful project outcomes and alignment with organizational goals
  • Monitor the progress of remediation activities, identifying any obstacles or delays and escalating and reporting the critical risk to executive leaders
  • Manage the execution of risk assessment delivery across a large global organization within the Enterprise. Oversee escalations with a focus on urgency and priority ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Lead special projects aimed at enhancing overall team efficiencies and optimizing operational process
  • Provides staff with professional and technical expertise and guidance to ensure that project objectives and scope are satisfied. This includes assisting staff members and contractors in the development and negotiation of recommendations and responses, evaluating the performance of the team, and providing guidance regarding department and company policies and procedures
  • Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products and/or approaches to meet business needs and address IT security concerns

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology/cyber security or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of relevant business experience, including internal audit and IT experience
  • 3+ years of leading teams with HR accountability
  • 3+ years of proficiency and understanding of IT security and internal control concepts and how to apply them
  • 2+ years of reporting experience to executive stakeholders
  • Experience implementing new software in large complex Enterprise
  • Proven working knowledge of IT Control/Security Frameworks ICFR/SOC
  • Proven working knowledge of 2 or more of the following: HITRUST/NIST/FedRAMP/ISO/CMS MARS-E/StateRAMP



Preferred Qualification:



  • Relevant IT certification(s) (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CIPT, CSFP, ISA, CIA

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
