Shift Supervisor - Liquids Control Center
Summary:
The Shift Supervisor - Control Center is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations within the Control Center, leading a group of Pipeline Controllers and providing oversight of an assigned shift. The Shift Supervisor bridges the communication between Pipeline Controllers and the Management team for various criteria to ensure the operation receives adequate attention in the appropriate areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Position supports the day-to-day operations of Energy Transfer Liquids Control, as well as emergency and abnormal operations response.
- Works within a team of other Shift Supervisors, rotating shifts to ensure the position is staffed 24/7/365.
- Accountable for conducting routine operational checks to increase attention to Leak Detection, Product Quality, Nominations, active console alarms, and communicating as required.
- Review hydraulic conditions of pipelines, investigate imbalances, and troubleshoot various events or operational issues.
- Assist in keeping shift documentation organized and updated
- Maintain excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of customers, peers, and management.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of relevant work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in Liquids Control Center Operations.
- Proven knowledge of operating requirements and procedures relating to all aspects of the Liquids Control Center.
- Extensive experience with pipeline hydraulics, investigating imbalances, troubleshooting operational events, and responding to abnormal operating conditions.
- Proven ability to communicate up and down the organization effectively with exceptional verbal and written skills.
- Must possess self-motivation and initiative to recognize, analyze and recommend alternative solutions to problems.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and independently with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Works a rotating (12-hour) shift schedule, requiring both day and night shifts including some weekends and holidays

- Proven ability to communicate up and down the organization effectively with exceptional verbal and written skills
- Must be a quick learner who is able to pick up a working knowledge of new information to make decisions and recommendations

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
