Responsibilities

  • Perform prototype Li-ion cell, component and HV battery pack testing and operations
  • Lead the set-up of test devices under the direction of engineering or supervisor
  • Review and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Debug electrical and/or mechanical test setups
  • Perform post-test inspections and data review as requested by project stakeholders, and ensure the work product meets the test objective/needs
  • Always ensure exceptional safety and quality
  • Communicate cross functionally any test deviations and resolve any concerns with active testing
  • Safe and proper use of various mechanical and inspection tools such as drills, saws, torque drivers, electrical DVOMs, and various hand tools as required
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment is mandatory
  • Availability for up to 20% travel

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement High School diploma or GED. STEM AA degree or technical school preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a high voltage Battery Test Technician
  • Experience working with Li-ion abuse testing is a plus
  • Working knowledge of battery test equipment and software e.g., test cycler, isolation meter, LabView, CANalyzer
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
  • Be flexible and willing to perform different job functions
  • Ability to work independently as needed
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas and concerns clearly; high energy and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated passion and ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Physical qualifications; able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Standard 40 hours with overtime when necessary

Pay Disclosure

Hourly Range for California Based Candidates: $47.33/hr. - $59.16/hr. (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
