Job Description

SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst will work directly with the Plant Controller and FP&A Manager to analyze the results and work with the plant location to provide explanations of results to be presented to Plant/Division leadership. The Senior Financial Analyst will possess strong communication and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects to meet aggressive deadlines. Other duties will include data extraction, report writing, process improvements, SOX and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate internal reporting requirements across the plant
  • Assist with the coordination of the month end close and quarterly reporting requirements to Division.
  • Develop and maintain processes for reporting daily and weekly financial and operational metrics in support of management team in accordance with corporate/division requirements and guidelines.
  • Assist in the reporting and consolidation for monthly and quarterly financial results to Metals Group leadership and corporate/division as required, including ad hoc reporting request as required.
  • Prepare quarterly operational and financial review packages for the Plant/Division/Corporate.
  • Cash reporting and related consolidation and analysis for daily, weekly and monthly as required.
  • Complete special projects and participate in process improvement activities and related analysis.
  • Work with local Operations/Engineering teams to analyze capital projects for financial reasonableness and coordinate capital reporting through TIMET and Corporate
  • Support TIMET SOX program, adhering to all policies, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze and report on Balance Sheet and Income Statement variances, identify root causes and provide executive summary to Plant leadership.
  • Document system processes and assist in user training, with focus on continuous improvement of plant analysis and reporting.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in testing business processes and user training, document system processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of financial management experience within a manufacturing environment. They will be a self-starter that can work autonomously, with exceptional time management skills to complete significant tasks and projects in a timely manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

5 - 7 years of experience

BS/BA Accounting or Finance required; CPA/CMA preferred

SPECIAL SKILLS

* Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications, specifically Microsoft Excel.

* Ability to work under minimal supervision and have a high level of self-motivation

* Strong managerial presence that reflects a "hands-on", participative and proactive operating style

* Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively

* Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

* Proficient in performing analysis and providing well defined answers/responses

* Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines

* May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives
