Job Description
This is an onsite, Developer 1 position from Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The ideal candidate must be located in Wyoming.
SUMMARY:
Responsible for activities related to Software Development Cycle (build, unit test, and deploy).
Providing programming and support of software applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Assists with the development and maintenance of Pace's software applications as directed.
  • Follows established guidelines and use of methodologies, tools, workflow processes, architecture, and technologies.
  • Assist users in support of existing applications, processes, and technologies.
  • Understand business processes and capabilities and ensure systems support them.
  • Meet with internal clients, business SME's, BA's and/or members of the development team to gather, define and document system requirements.
  • Provide estimates for time needed to complete assigned development work.
  • Meet with internal clients, business SME's, operations analysts, and/or members of the development team to gather, define and document system requirements.
  • Actively participates and presents their development in code reviews.
  • Provides Help Desk support, issue tracking support, and production support of web applications including on-call rotation assignments.
  • Generate unit tests for code developed; review and test to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Operates within team building best practices; transparency, trust, code reviews, documentation.
  • Familiarizes themselves with the user documentation in order to understand the applicable application system(s).
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a variety of individuals contacted in the course of the work.
  • Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.



QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; AND internship
or one (1) year in professional software development and support experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills


  • Ability to work under moderate supervision.
  • Understand architectural/ development methodologies and approach.
  • Understand principles and practices of software development, maintenance, and implementation.
  • Understand principles of Agile or Waterfall software development life cycle.
  • Exposure to modern languages and development techniques.
  • Write unit test cases and conduct unit testing; understand automated testing.
  • Working with paired development and team environment.
  • Effectively communicates the business needs to technical team members. Is able to leverage a wide range of documentation options such as spreadsheets, presentations, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, wire-framing, etc.
  • Effectively comprehend communication from IT, or other business unit, in regards to direction, requirements, and scope.
  • Effectively manages competing priorities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively participate in the testing and support of systems as needed.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a lab and office setting. Work is subject to chemicals, fumes, gasses, noxious odors, and related items in a lab setting.
