Cook

The Lutheran Home of Belle Plaine is actively seeking to add a part time cook/assistant cook to our dietary team. There is a specific need for AM/day shifts. Successful candidate will be able to pick up additional shifts as they become available.

This person will be responsible for:

• Preparing, serving & delivering of food and beverages as directed.
• Monitor & maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work area.
• Operate dishwasher throughout shift. Wash dishes, pots, pans, coffee urns, glasses and flatware.
• Help ensure all food is labeled, dated and stored properly.
• Remove outdated food items. Help ensure all equipment is turned off.
• Restock items that were depleted or used during the shift.
• Clean kitchen and equipment.
• Transport food and beverages to neighborhoods when requested.

Previous experience in food service preferred. Three to four years of high school, basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions, and the ability to read, write, add and subtract are required. Candidate must be 16+. Must be able to be on feet and active for entirety of shift.
