POSITION PURPOSE

The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of the organization's total quality function and driving the internal, Supplier, and Customer quality processes while leading continuous improvement activities following Zurn Elkay Business System (ZEBS), Lean Six Sigma and Quality Management principles. Quality Manager will develop, monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system in manufacturing and office environments. As a member of the Site Leadership Team will lead the organizations efforts and passion about pursuing zero defects and promoting the practices to achieve the best processes leading the Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams towards world class manufacturing, while considering the customer, associates, and use of the Zurn Elkay Business System.

The Quality Manager ensures the implementation, proper execution and maintenance of quality control plans and procedures, as well as ensuring that the activities of continuous improvement are implemented and monitored through proper indicators of internal and external quality, and also responsible for the quality of the manufacturing measurement systems, the fulfillment of customer specific requirement applicable to Engineering and Operations, and also that new products and processes are properly implemented prior to the release to manufacturing. Will use leadership experience to coach and train associates on the methodologies, philosophy and tools of the Zurn Elkay Business System so that they are understood, implemented, and applied by Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Customer Service functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, management and maintenance of the quality system and regulatory compliance
  • Successful implementation of company-wide operational procedures to support quality system requirements, and world class execution.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement establishing objectives for world class customer satisfaction using tools such as lean manufacturing, six sigma, and Zurn Elkay business system are used to ensure proper validation and approval of new products manufacturing lines and processes are used to achieve goals.
  • Drive quality standards throughout organization. Create a culture of quality.
  • Grow the supplier quality system for domestic and international vendors.
  • Conduct quality systems audits at supplier sites.
  • Improve quality performance while providing coaching and guidance in the implementation of processes and tools by working with regional Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Service, and Sales.
  • Reduce Internal and External DPPM and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Drive improving customer satisfaction levels via VOC, data analysis and CAPA.
  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in Six Sigma and/or Lean activities to drive operational and transactional improvements.
  • Analyzes current processes, develops tactics, metrics and scorecards, and institutes data-driven process improvements which will link Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Customer Service objectives and goals worldwide.
  • Work in concert with Zurn NPD / VA-VE / Sourcing teams to complete PPAP requirements and improvement projects with Suppliers
  • Assist in managing supplier certification process.
  • Develop quality requirements and quality plans.
  • Manage site Quality resources to achieve objectives.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce waste and increase efficiency across the business
  • Provide expertise to ensure quality standards are recognized, understood and maintained across the company.
  • Disseminate quality concepts throughout the organization, contributing to the development of a culture committed Quality and organization objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
  • 6+ years of proven experience implementing and/or improving quality systems.
  • 2+ years of supplier quality experience. International experience a plus.
