We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Project Manager on our Marketing & Membership Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Project Manager you will provide project management and analytical skills that lead to the successful development, management, evaluation and maintaining of the products, services and large scale programs in MMX and related activities of implementation as part of the AMA's strategic plan. Collaborate and coordinate with other AMA units, partners and vendors to ensure the successful development and implementation of projects. Ensure project outcomes align and enable achievement of business goals; actively seek out user
feedback with internal and external stakeholder groups and identify opportunities to improve the overall impact medical education work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Manage medium to large projects or programs in
    terms of complexity and maintain project plans, status, and issues.
  • Create and
    maintain project plans, report status, track and resolve issues and ensure
    proper implementation and follow- up.
  • Create detailed schedules, ensuring proper sequencing of activities and resources to meet
    required deadlines.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to implement, coordinate and oversee project assignments/milestones and execution in accordance with approved project plans.
  • Ensure project deliverables are
    on-time, within budget and meet quality expectations throughout implementation.
  • Proactively identify project risks and issues. Collaborate with other members of the MMX team to reduce project timelines and eliminate duplicative costs.
  • Potential projects include, but are not
    limited to, piloting new products and offerings in medical education; and building and running communication activities

Relationship Management

  • Meet
    regularly with program leadership and staff to ensure activities of external
    partners are well integrated and coordinated within the program.
  • Provide
    consultation and support to external partners to facilitate the implementation of the project goals and deliverables as
    well as define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Liaison
    with other AMA departments, such as the Office of the General Counsel, Risk
    Management and Enterprise Communications and Marketing, to ensure collaborative
    relationships and maintain compliance with AMA standards and policies.
  • Contribute to a positive and mutually supportive team culture within
    the MMX unit.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required
  2. 5 + years experience with project management project management experience managing mid-size projects with multiple stakeholders. PMP certification preferred
  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and execute multiple, concurrent projects, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and maintain a strict budget; ability to handle ambiguity and adapt effectively to
    changing circumstances.
  4. Highly organized, efficient and detail oriented; strong strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills required.
  5. Experience with detailed business analysis, data
    gathering and interfacing with users, including impact analysis, documentation
    and process flow documents.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently; polished interpersonal and consensus-building skills.
  7. Strong written and verbal communications skills; with experience communicating to various levels of stakeholders.
  8. Some travel required.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $85,680- $113,526. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
