*Top Skills' Details*
* 3+ years of experience in network analysis, IT performance monitoring, or telecom network operations * Proficiency in network monitoring tools like Datadog, NetScout, and HEMIC (Homer), or similar tools * Strong analytical skills to detect network anomalies, troubleshoot VoIP/SIP issues, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) * Experience with network performance metrics (latency, jitter, packet loss) and working with large datasets for proactive issue detection * Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present technical findings and collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and Network Engineers Network Monitoring & Analysis Tools: Datadog, NetScout, HEMIC (Homer), or similar tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix) VoIP & SIP Analysis: HEMIC (Homer), SIP call flow debugging, PCAP analysis (e.g., tcpdump) *Description* The Network Analyst is critical in analyzing and optimizing network performance, identifying service-impacting trends, and proactively detecting network anomalies. This role is responsible for real-time network monitoring, deep data analysis, root cause investigations (RCA), and reporting on performance trends. The analyst will work with large datasets, VoIP/SIP traffic, network latency metrics, system logs, and incident patterns to ensure optimal network stability and service quality. Day in the LifeThe day begins with reviewing overnight network performance metrics and alerts using Datadog, NetScout, and HEMIC (Homer) to detect anomalies in VoIP/SIP traffic, latency, jitter, and packet loss. They investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and correlate logs to identify trends. Throughout the day, they collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and Network Engineers, fine-tune monitoring alerts, and analyze network traffic to optimize service quality. Using Power BI and Datadog, they generate performance reports and dashboards for leadership. They also update documentation, refine processes, and integrate AI-driven analytics to proactively detect service degradation. The day concludes with a final network health check, ensuring stability and readiness for any emerging issues. *The position primarily involves analyzing network data, identifying patterns, and troubleshooting issues using tools like PowerBI. *The candidate will engage with data engineering and BI teams to extract and interpret data. *Strong curiosity and problem-solving mindset are key, with an ability to ask "why" and dig deep into network anomalies. *Monitor and analyze network alerts and reports. *Work with networking teams and participate in troubleshooting when necessary. *Potentially be part of an on-call rotation, though this is still under discussion. *Explain insights from data clearly, beyond just presenting graphs. *Collaborate with leadership, adapting communication styles for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Core ResponsibilitiesMonitoring network performance by analyzing VoIP/SIP traffic, latency, jitter, and packet loss to detect anomalies and ensure service reliability. Using tools like Datadog, NetScout, and HEMIC (Homer), they identify inefficiencies, investigate incidents, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring issues. They configure and fine-tune network monitoring alerts, proactively detect service degradation, and collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and Network Engineers to troubleshoot network-impacting events. Additionally, they develop real-time dashboards and reports using Power BI and Datadog, provide data-driven insights to leadership, and maintain documentation while continuously refining monitoring processes. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Technical Skills: *Experience with network traffic analysis, particularly VoIP traffic (a strong preference). *Familiarity with network monitoring tools. *Understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting. Soft Skills: *Ability to switch between technical deep dives and high-level executive communication. *Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to craft reports and RCAs. *A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a natural curiosity for digging into data. The ideal candidate for the Network Analyst role is a highly analytical professional with 3+ years of experience in network analysis, IT performance monitoring, or data analytics, with a strong understanding of VoIP/SIP traffic, network performance metrics, and incident troubleshooting. They are proficient in tools like Datadog, NetScout, and HEMIC (Homer) or similar network monitoring tools, using them to detect service anomalies, investigate root causes, and generate data-driven reports. This person excels in proactive analysis, identifying trends and optimizing monitoring to prevent service disruptions. They thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment, collaborating with SRE, DevOps, and Network Engineers to improve network stability. With experience in telecom network operations, they are skilled at working with large datasets, refining alert thresholds, and leveraging AI-driven analytics to enhance service quality. Strong communication and documentation skills enable them to present findings effectively and contribute to continuous process improvements. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
