Summary of the Job:

The Sr. Risk Governance & Metrics Analyst, Enterprise Risk is responsible for leading, developing, and performing First National of Nebraska, Inc.'s ("FNNI") Enterprise Risk Management ("ERM") program functions including Key Risk Indicator and Key Performance Indicator program oversight and credible challenge. This role will also be responsible for assisting with Enterprise Risk Administration activities. This includes policy/program development, enhancement, and training, reporting to oversight committees, monitoring compliance with policy/program requirements, quality assurance reviews, ensuring timely resolution of issues and assisting the Director of Enterprise Risk Management/Chief of Staff with administrative functions related to Audits and Regulatory Examinations, the Bank's Emerging Risk Process, the Innovation Sandbox and the Bank's Operational Policy and Procedure oversight.

This role will also identify, develop, and implement process and system enhancements to continuously improve efficiency and best practices. This role acts as a subject matter expert, representing Enterprise Risk on matters that pertain to Enterprise Risk Governance, KRI/KPI measurement and Enterprise Risk Administration activities.

Additionally, this role proactively works with business units to identify and escalate risks associated with these programs.

About This Role:

Program Development, Management and Oversight:

Maintain and enhance the governance framework of oversight functions.

  • Lead all aspects of the ERM Program;
  • Maintain all policies, programs, procedures, and training materials;
  • Assess the ERM Program processes for enhancements and improvements including compliance with regulator guidance and best practices;
  • Incorporate feedback and provide input to ERM Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business unit partners on related areas of focus, known gaps, and emerging areas of risk;
  • Maintain and enhance the collection, tracking, reporting and escalation of Accepted Risks;
  • Execute on the development, implementation, monitoring and credible challenge of the Bank's key risk indicators (KRIs), key performance indicators (KPIs), operational risk policies, and risk appetite statement.
    • Develop and maintain an enterprise framework and library of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) including tracking, trending analysis, reporting, and escalation;
  • Track and provide oversight of the Operational FNNI and FNBO Policies ensuring annual reviews are completed and tracked and current versions are on SharePoint. Identify opportunities to expand oversight enterprise-wide.
  • Maintain and enhance the Archer Accepted Risk and Policy modules including workflows and new or revised program requirements;
  • Prepare reporting to appropriate Board appointed oversight committees regarding key risks, aspects, or components of the ERM Program; and
  • Facilitate the execution of action plans related to program findings.

Consultation, Analysis and Communication:

Work collaboratively with SMEs, business unit partners, and oversight committee members and lead discussions of emerging areas of regulator or Chief Risk Officer focus pertaining to Enterprise Risk.

  • Lead business unit partners, SMEs, and oversight committee member discussions to promote a clear partnership and understanding of program improvements, risks, and expectations;
  • Engage with business unit partners, SMEs, and oversight committee members to identify and implement appropriate solutions to improve the ERM program;
  • Work with business unit partners and SMEs to ensure clear understanding and alignment of efforts and accountabilities;
  • Meet with business unit partners and SMEs as needed, to explain applicable program requirements, impacts and solutions, and discuss results of audits and regulatory exams;
  • Responsible for leading initiatives and representing Enterprise Risk in support of FNNI's ERM function;
  • Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships;
  • Develop and present official scorecards, reports, and metrics for timely distribution to management, as appropriate; and
  • Champion, lead, and manage improvements to the Archer modules used to facilitate risk governance processes.

Other:

  • Perform project management functions on as-needed basis;
  • Assist management in internal audit and regulatory exam management including requesting and coordinating examiner LAN and building access;
  • Collaborate and cross train with other members of the team and serve as back up for those functions; and
  • Assist management with initiatives flowing through the Emerging Risk and Innovation Sandbox processes.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or related risk management experience;
  • 5+ years of operational/enterprise risk management or equivalent business unit experience;
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills with experience building consensus, gaining buy-in, and addressing complex topics within all levels of an organization;
  • Must be proficient in business and leadership capabilities: effective communication, independent and sound decision making, effective relationship management skills;
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner to stakeholders at all levels;
  • Ability to work efficiently in pressure situations and demonstrate a high level of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Ability to build and develop collaborative working relationships;
  • Ability to identify and recommend objective resolutions to problems using risk analysis;
  • Ability to present information and reporting in a clear and concise manner; and
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Archer GRC Tool;
  • Knowledge of risk/control concepts and ERM functions; and
  • Aptitude for reporting, data analytics, and technical terminology and techniques.
