We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team in the Motility Center and Functional Abdominal Pain Program within the Gastroenterology Department. This full-time position involves providing a range of clinical social work services and case management to patients and families navigating complex gastrointestinal conditions and chronic pain. This role requires specialized support and comfort in areas including parent coaching, child protection concerns, school reintegration and advocacy, chronic illness adjustment, and family dynamics. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, emotional resilience, and a nuanced understanding of how psychosocial stressors intersect with pediatric medical conditions.

This Motility Social Worker will be responsible for:

  • Conducting psychosocial screenings and comprehensive assessments to guide care planning
  • Providing brief individual and family counseling focused on adjustment to chronic illness and family system support
  • Offering longitudinal case management-facilitating access to community and hospital-based supports, tracking care plans, and addressing psychosocial barriers to follow-through
  • Helping families navigate the intersection of chronic illness and educational systems and collaborating with schools to implement recommended accommodations and support services
  • Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other allied health professionals
  • Fostering effective team dynamics by facilitating open communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary medical teams
  • Delivering crisis intervention, safety planning, and resource mobilization as needed
  • Addressing child protection concerns in collaboration with internal and external agencies
  • Contributing to program development and participating in ongoing quality improvement efforts

To qualify you must have:

  • Master's degree in social work
  • MA LCSW or LICSW licensure required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and organizational skills essential.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment essential. Self-motivated.
  • Strong clinical experience in medical or pediatric settings; GI or pain experience preferred.
