The Role

The Lead Project Manager is the primary single point of contact for an assigned portfolio of non-standard SLED (state, local, education) government contracts with significant complexity, unique requirements or that qualify as a "Special". Responsible for managing the assigned contracts to meet requirements and deliverables necessary for Lumen to maintain contract compliance. This role participates in and leads discussions internally and externally regarding non-standard and often complex contract terms and conditions.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan and manage processes and activities that promote contract compliance for highly complex non-standard government contracts

  • Accountable for maintaining accurate records.

  • Analyzes contract terms and conditions and develops processes to ensure all requirements are met.

  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and external meetings. Communicate and present information about all contract-related matters.

  • Develop and distribute process documentation for all contract deliverables defining tasks and responsible stakeholders. Track/manage action items to ensure that deliverables are met on time.

  • Assess/Manage risk, impacts and potential alternatives and escalate as required to the appropriate level of management.

  • Acts as contract subject matter expert & accountable for successful contract compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to contract related policies and processes

  • Lead contract amendment and modification efforts.

  • Reiterate contract rules, roles/responsibilities for deliverables and status of contract modifications and amendments on a regular basis.

  • Employs judgment to make business decisions about things that will impact the contract, or company.

  • Contributes to RFPs and contract negotiations to reduce risk and ensure compliance with custom, non-standard contract requirements. Identifies opportunities to improve assigned government contracts to minimize risk and maximize monetization. Engages Sales organization as appropriate.

  • Solves any contract-related problems to avoid or overcome formal deficiency notices.

  • Understands contract intent and objectives and performs contract abstraction using SharePoint as the repository for key details.

  • Develops and maintains contract training materials and hosts training calls for assigned contracts.

  • Contribute to overall contract strategy.

  • Acts as mentor and team leader to other teammates

What We Look For in a Candidate

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 5+ years of related experience as a contract project manager, contract administrator, or relevant role.

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing/negotiating complex government contracts in the technology industry

  • Kaizen certification or familiarity

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or familiarity

  • Contract management certification/s (recognized by National Contract Management Association)

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY
$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
