Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong creative and critical thinking skills; the desire to work with a top-notch group of people on manufacturing projects, and has the ability to contribute to technical documentation, writing and interacting with multiple cross-functional teams on a consistent basis.

Under the direction of program and production leadership, you will assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture and fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. You will be expected to assist with the manufacturing design, analysis, integration, and test activities of electrical and mechanical hardware and subsystems in preparation for full system production and testing.

You must have demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment. You will also be able to rapidly adapt to various types of work, and quickly learn new skills and analysis methods. You must be able to multi-task, while supporting technology development initiatives. You will be supporting rigorous processes & procedures associated with building and testing production hardware, all while generating positive buy-in from the team. Excellent communication skills are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Review engineering drawings and interface with Engineering to ensure consistent understanding of intent. Participate in engineering design reviews with teams and leadership.
  • Create production procedures and instructions to facilitate production execution in compliance with engineering drawings and data, quality requirements, and regulations.
  • Collaborate on, implement, and evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements for new products and to improve manufacturing efficiency for existing products.
  • Identify and differentiate between manufacturing, design, and component issues, and coordinate resolution of the issues with the appropriate individual, group, or organization.
  • Perform Root cause analysis and identify and monitor corrective actions to resolve production and product issues.
  • Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
  • Monitor production equipment and coordinate maintenance, calibration and repair services and make sure that manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; and soliciting observations from technicians and engineers.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and provide management with reports to facilitate process improvements.
  • Perform data collection to facilitate the tracking of manufacturing related data including Test Yields, Manufacturing fallout, through-put, etc.
  • Prepare for and support, physical and functional configuration audits.
  • Monitor and record production performance; labor, material cost, schedule, etc., to support management in monitoring current performance and estimating for future opportunities.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.



Required Education and Experience



  • A U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing, industrial, systems, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools
  • Able to interpret technical documentation and specifications
  • At least 5 years leading production process in a multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment


Preferred Education and Experience:



  • Experience working in the defense industry and understanding of auditing agency, such as, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
  • Hardware Interfacing and Software Integration skills
  • Experience with Lean Methodology including 5S and statistical process control
  • Ability to adjust communication style to recipient based on feedback
  • Database and Reporting Software experience
  • Understanding of work order management and manufacturing performance tracking systems
  • Current US Department of Defense Security Clearance
  • Experience with IPC soldering standards and circuit card, harness, and system assembly
  • Solidworks experience
