What you'll be doing...

The Verizon CyberSecurity (VCS) organization ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of technology assets and information across all Verizon networks, systems and applications. VCS integrates cyber security governance, policies, technologies and operations across Verizon, and works to incorporate security into the design of technology systems and services in support of protecting our company and customers.

The Verizon CyberSecurity (VCS) team is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Compliance Consultant to join the Governance, Risk and Compliance team. This role will report to the Associate Director of Cybersecurity Compliance and focus on cybersecurity regulatory advisory, assurance and compliance services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gap Assessment Support:

    • Assist in conducting gap and readiness analysis to identify potential non-compliance matters and vulnerabilities.

    • Support the prioritization of security gaps and vulnerabilities and coordinate with stakeholders to develop remediation strategies

  • Security Architecture Support:

    • Advocate for the implementation of solutions to protect the confidentiality of Verizon and customer data

    • Assist with the maintenance of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze security compliance data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

    • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track compliance metrics and risk indicators.

    • Aid in creating presentations and reports for management on compliance status and findings.

    • Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to support gap assessments and audits.

  • Program Management Support:

    • Assist with the assessment and/or audit process associated with customer and regulated compliance programs, including coordinating with third-party assessors and internal stakeholders.

    • Help prepare reports on the status of compliance programs.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including IT, Legal, Compliance, and business units.

    • Stay informed of emerging regulatory requirements, security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

    • Provide support and guidance on compliance-related matters.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • One or more years of experience supporting audit and/or compliance efforts.

  • Ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to work across multiple information security frameworks, regulations and standards such as NIS2, PCI DSS, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO27001 and NYDFS.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Ability to track observations/gaps/vulnerabilities in support of compliance/audit efforts.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools

  • Experience with automation tools to streamline compliance tasks and data analysis.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annually salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $101,000.00 - $194,000.00.
