Director of Manufacturing - Dental & Birth Tissue

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Responsible for overseeing the development, direction, and implementation of key activities within the Dental and Birth Tissue areas of Manufacturing, ensuring the optimization of daily operations through effective leadership, strategic planning, and continuous improvement practices to achieve high levels of efficiency and operational success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Provides leadership for Solvita processes to integrate the needs of Solvita customers and regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Primary Operating Units include the Dental and Birth Tissue departments.
2. Develops and achieves departmental goals consistent with CBC/CTS's mission and strategic plan.
3. Establishes high level metrics for teams and uses trend analysis to monitor performance. Performs process flow mapping when necessary.
4. Implements processes for continuous improvement of tracking metrics, maximizing the gift of donation and exceeding customer expectations for allograft fit and function.
5. Works closely with Production Planning and Business Development to ensure all graft production schedules are being attained.
6. Works effectively to maintain interdepartmental cooperation and respect.
7. Partners with Process Engineering and Development on continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Hires, trains, evaluates, develops and counsels employees.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in life sciences, business or technical area.
• Ten years of experience in manufacturing with a heavy emphasis and track record in teamwork, collaboration and problem solving.

• Five years of medical device and/or tissue banking experience.
• Project management experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

• Extensive periods of interaction with public.
• Overnight travel may be required, including flights on chartered or commercial aircraft.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by CBC/CTS insurance provider.
• Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Master's Degree.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and waste identification in a production and office environment.
• Previous tissue banking experience.
• Experience in a regulated background.
