Job Summary:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.

  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation and laws pertaining to all personnel matters.

  • Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.

  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program.

  • Establishes and maintains systems and processes to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented individuals; creating a work environment where people can realize their full potential, thus allowing the organization to meet current and future business challenges.

  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate on personnel matters.

  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.

  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.

  • Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.

  • Supervises the staff of the corporate human resource department.

  • Leads the Human Resource function for SGI.

  • Works with the appropriate managers and union leadership to administer, interpret and negotiate union contracts.

  • Works with the appropriate personnel within the Standard Industries Corporation, to align HR functions as appropriate.

  • Participates on committees and special projects as well as any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Leadership/Supervision

This position manages all employees of the Corporate HR department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. The Plant HR Business Partners have a dotted line responsibility to this position.

Education/Experience

Education: BA/BS required, HR preferred or related field, Master's degree

preferred, professional HR certification preferred

Experience: 10+ Years HR management experience preferably in a manufacturing

and/or industrial setting

Knowledge: Key exposures in Staffing, Employee Relations, Employee

Development and Training, Benefits, Performance Management,

Administration and/or Employee Communications. Technical and

Professional knowledge.

Working Conditions: This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work. This job operates in a professional office environment the majority of the time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers and smartphones. On occasion work may be performed in outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions and rough terrain exist.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications. Annual Salary Range: 193,500-247,250
