Purpose of the Role The Structural/Building Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing trade crews on a construction site, ensuring project objectives are met efficiently and safely. This role provides leadership in scheduling, workface planning, coordination, and supervision while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. The Structural/Building Superintendent plays a critical role in optimizing productivity, training apprentices, and monitoring quality control and costs to support Worley's mission of delivering sustainable change in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct a large group of forepeople within a single trade to ensure seamless execution of construction activities.
- Develop and implement workface planning strategies, ensuring project schedules and objectives are met effectively.
- Oversee workforce allocation, ensuring adequate manpower balance and optimizing efficiency across construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies, fostering a safe work environment.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to trade personnel, supporting proper apprentice training and skill development.
- Monitor project costs, material usage, and labor productivity to ensure efficiency and adherence to budget constraints.
- Maintain high-quality control standards by overseeing construction work and ensuring adherence to engineering and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve challenges related to workforce coordination, materials, and site logistics to minimize disruptions.
- Communicate effectively with staff, construction management teams, and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of systems, processes, and tools, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications / Skillset
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in structural or building construction, with relevant journey-level certification if required.
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to direct and mentor trade personnel effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of construction workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Expertise in HSE regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices to ensure workplace safety.
- Advanced understanding of construction systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and support process improvements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess challenges and implement effective solutions in real-time.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing project costs, labor productivity, and quality control measures.
- Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with project goals and company policies.
