The BNSF RailwayCorporate Communications and Public Affairs Departmentmanages internal and external communications, handles media relations, and supports community interactions in which we serve and work. This team ensures clear, consistent messaging and fosters positive relationships with the public and stakeholders. Their efforts are crucial in maintaining BNSF's reputation and community engagement.

This is a full-timeposition located in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.

The Manager/Sr. Manager Corporate Communications serves an important role on BNSF's Internal Communication & Engagement team to help our people succeed at work by supporting internal content, messaging and branding strategies related to total compensation, benefits, wellness and development programs as well as internal/external recruitment initiatives.

Key responsibilities may include:

Manage internal communication workflow in partnership with Human Resources subject matter experts, including successful review and distribution of internal total compensation, benefits, wellness and other Human Resource-related communication.

Manage internal communication programs specific for salaried employee audiences, people leaders and executives.

Serve as communication, brand and reputation advisor, supporting effective recruitment and onboarding communication, presentations, promotional materials and collateral.

Manage internal myBNSF websites/content in partnership with assigned Human Resource subject matter experts and support regular updates/maintenance of related content on bnsf.com.

Regularly engage with internal stakeholders to ensure communication programs remain timely and relevant, address potential challenges and promote a strong employer brand.

Work closely with external communication team to support recruitment and other related social media and web-based campaigns.

Support internal employee engagement and recognition programs and events, as assigned.

Daily workis conducted in an indoor office environment.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • Four-year college degree in a business-related discipline required, with a degree in marketing, communication or journalism preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in BNSF, and specifically in Human Resources, preferred.
  • Professional corporate experience in internal communication, employee/leadership engagement, marketing, branding and training, with BNSF experience preferred.
  • Strong writing skills in both traditional and digital communication, along with photography, videography and graphic design, with Canva experience preferred.
  • Skilled project manager with demonstrated ability to lead, manage and measure for results.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully engaging dispersed, non-wired employees.
  • Able to successfully juggle several simultaneous tasks and requests from leaders while meeting deadlines and expectations.
  • Communicates ideas in a clear, concise manner, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use strong direct and indirect leadership skills to drive successful outcomes.
  • Sets a high personal standard of excellence for work quality and output.
  • Strong personal organization, planning and time management skills.
  • Builds and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, and BNSF leaders.
  • Able to remain calm and instill confidence while under pressure or in high-stress situations.
  • Acts as an informal leader for others on the team or in peer groups.
