THE ROLE:

The Full-Chip Functional Validation team is looking for an experienced post-silicon security functional validation engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for validating Security IP in next generation AMD EPYC Datacenter CPUs. Security is an exciting and ever-changing feature within Datacenter SOCs.

THE PERSON:

Technical, hands-on engineer for Datacenter CPU Post-Silicon security feature validation and enabling across AMD EPYC SOC products. The individual will interface with security architects, silicon and firmware design groups to plan, develop, and execute validation plans for Datacenter SOC products through the product life cycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Post silicon validation of Security IP in AMD EPYC Datacenter CPU SOCs
  • Develop validation test plans and content for Security features.
  • Drive debug and root-cause analysis for SoC related issues
  • Test cross-product interactions between various SoC features
  • Enhance post-silicon validation infrastructure such as automation environment, validation configuration checking, automated test log analysis, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate to improve SoC validation, debug efficiency, coverage, and process

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • CPU post-silicon validation experience
  • Strong programming skills and scripting language expertise (C/C++, Python)
  • Hands-on post-silicon lab experience working with platforms, server Operating Systems, and virtualized environments
  • Experience with x86 microprocessor architecture and with server SOC platform architecture including firmware, IO, and DDR
  • Experience developing validation methodologies, test content, and infrastructure
  • Test plan and workload development experience
  • Creation of positive and negative test cases that not only confirm correct functionality but also attempt to break the design
  • Silicon debug skills at both SoC and system level
  • Working knowledge of Server OSes (Linux, Windows Server)
  • Proficiency working with common lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers
  • Team player with excellent communication skills who can work autonomously, multitask, and set priorities.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Security validation expertise
  • Expertise in datacenter Security features such as encryption, secure boot, root of trust, key management, confidential compute, and attestation
  • Security architecture and threat modeling
  • 5+ years of experience in SoC validation and debug

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in either Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
