As part of the Solutions Architecture team within Verizon's Cyber Security Architecture organization, you will collaborate with technology planning and design experts in our Information Technology and Network organizations. The successful candidate will have a track record of success, an ability to work and partner with other organizations sharing a common goal, and the desire to find ways to say "yes" and to bake security into both new and existing products and processes.

As part of the Solutions Architecture team, you will be responsible for working alongside network, desktop, server, data center, and IoT/OT teams as a subject matter expert to ensure security considerations are addressed at the design and implementation layers prior to a solution going through a formal risk review and/or pen test of a finalized build. You will be required to cross multiple technologies and security domains and forge exceptional relationships with technology owners, cyber defense practitioners, governance teams, and IAM teams. An ideal candidate is recognized as both a senior cybersecurity professional and as a technology expert and has experience in one of more of the following disciplines:

• Network security and network segmentation

• Securing IoT/OT infrastructure

• Windows server administration and security

• *nix server administration and security

• VoIP / Telephony security

• Design, document, and communicate secure solutions architectures to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Design and implement security solutions that proactively address identified vulnerabilities and emerging threats.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and hardening with security architecture solutions.

• Utilize benchmarks to create and enhance security baselines.

• Developing and maintaining high-quality documentation of infrastructure, processes, and procedures.

• Managing tasks using Jira and other collaboration tools.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant work experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

• Recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP or CISM.

• Identifying vulnerabilities using CWE or OWASP.

• Ability to design and implement effective security solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

• Experience with common information technology topics including IP networking, Operating Systems, Authentication, Encryption, APIs, Virtualization/Containers.

• Experience troubleshooting complex technical conditions in large, enterprise environments.

• A track record of leading cross-functional security initiatives.

• Work experience using Jira, AYS, or similar task management tools.

• Cisco professional level certification (e.g. CCNP, CCSP, CCVP, CCIE)

• RedHat Certified Engineer or RedHat Certified Architect

• Microsoft Cybersecurity Architecture Expert

• Experience administering infrastructure such as networks, servers, or desktops

• Knowledge of security automation or orchestration tools.

• Deep insight into emerging threats and modern security technologies.
