Job Summary:
The primary function of an Electrification and Special Projects Manager is to utilize leadership and managerial skills to progress the execution of Major distribution served projects, and ensure excellent customer experience. The Electrification and Special Projects managers will maintain business relationships with Key Contacts at support with Electric Industry research institutes to identify new Electric Vehicle and Data Center customer inquiries and support new project pipeline and feasibility of interconnection. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships across the organization required to successfully complete customer driven work in a timely manner. This position will not only manage the Clean Air Technology budget but will ensure progress of the group towards SMART goal setting aligned with the company mission and values. The Electrification and Special Projects Manager will ensure compliance with safety rules, Company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
*Must have the ability to remain steady while dealing with and resolving complex issues involving numerous departments, both internal and external
*Manages the relationships with CenterPoint Energy's most significant electric distribution customers to ensure CenterPoint Energy is always regarded as a trusted energy advisor
*Capable of executive level presentations and discussions daily with both internal and external Executive members
*Ability to manage a team and guide them according to Company policy through complex situations regarding multifaceted customer revenue work, outage coordination, and direction amongst all CNP internal groups
*Will attend conferences and seminars to represent CenterPoint Energy Electrification (EV Project Execution) with Executive customer representation
*Work with Engineering daily to ensure all groups understand the project holistically, and work towards a common timeline to guarantee customer satisfaction is achieved.
*Must maintain an enterprise mindset as you deal with customers across the footprint, which may not be confined to a particular service area or job scope (i.e. Dist Operations, MUG, Substation, etc)
*Maintain the ability to respond to customer needs 24/7 throughout the year.
*Supervise staff of professionals that are responsible for project management of service extension negotiations related to service locations, requirements, costs, easement rights, and construction timeframes in both overhead and major underground engineering.
*Work with Engineering to continuously improve processes to benefit the overall customer experience.
*Assists with the Strategic Business Engagement Director as needed in the execution of his/her job duties, which may include partnering with Leadership in Distribution Operations, Major Underground Operations and Distribution Project Management.
*Participate in the Major Underground Management Duty Rotation.
*Represents the Key Accounts group in cross-functional teams and in Engineering meetings to ensure all vantage points are achieved and to contribute to the overall effectiveness CenterPoint Energy Engineering Departments.
*Manages special projects within the Major Underground Engineering/Operations groups, as needed/assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
*Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or a technical field required.
Experience:
*Requires seven (7) or more years of experience in a project management role and/or leadership position in an electrical engineering or distribution operations function.
