Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Emburse and Jaggaer Business Systems Analyst supports Travel, Disbursements, and Purchasing, as well as the uShop (Jaggaer) and Chrome River (CR - Emburse) systems.
This position may serve in the following roles for the systems under their purview: planning, designing, examining, analyzing, configuring, developing, implementing, administering, and monitoring business and program processes and systems. In collaboration with
ITS, this position ensures seamless integration of uShop and CR with Banner, AiM, and other campus applications as needed.
This role encompasses the functional responsibilities of shopper, approver, and administrator for uShop, as well as all available roles in CR. The analyst also conducts training sessions for staff and faculty on these systems and processes, providing comprehensive support for all campus users. Additionally, this position offers Level 1 support for TouchNet, Fiserv, American Express, and other systems within Financial Systems.
As the recognized subject matter expert and solution specialist for business and program processes related to uShop and CR, this position demands strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and a process-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused and enjoy training, helping, and supporting campus users. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in configuring applications. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. |
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience |
- 3 years of experience in training groups.
- Experience working with Banner, Jaeger, and Chrome River.
- Experience with disbursements and procurements, preferably in a higher education institution.
- Ability to re-engineer techniques to successfully improve, implement and adapt financial system processes for operational units and campus system users.
- Ability to set and meet project design time tables based on user expectations, policies and guidelines.
- Experience with preparing clear and concise reports, flow charts, and other written communications in connection with how systems work

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The
Finance team within the
Division of Business Affairs supports the University's mission, strategic vision, goals, and objectives by providing key financial services efficiently and effectively. The Finance team provides financial services directly to students and the campus community.
The
Financial Systems office, a unit within the Finance team, provides consulting, implementation, integration, and analytical services for university financial systems and financial processes. Services provided ensure optimal system integration, financial reconciliation and user satisfaction for financial systems and processes. Financial Systems provides operational system management support for Banner Finance, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and HR, Jaggaer, Emburse, e-Print, eVisions,
SSRS, TouchNet and ImageNow. Financial Systems also handles the administration for e-commerce at
UNCW. Financial Systems provides vendor management, program and project management, process, business, system, and data analysis for Finance and supports the campus for finance-related activities of this nature. Additionally, Financial Systems is accountable for all e-commerce and payments (acceptance and remittance) financial processing and operations oversight, and compliance of all payments (acceptance and remittance), including credit card transactions on campus and
PCI reporting, including
FTC Red Flags reporting and credit/debit card,
ACH, and payment fraud. |
