The Senior BI Analyst, FP&A performs research, data extraction and analysis, building data and analytical tools, and providing financial modeling to support profitability, forecasting, and reporting.
Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:
Job Duties
  • Develop complex financial modeling for product profitability as well as financial forecasting working with our internal business partners throughout the credit union to gather and analyze data, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to propose recommendations for improvements to current methods used in collecting data, performing variance analyses, and creating reports.
  • Work to understand opportunities to connect and integrate data from all of First Tech's systems (Oracle ERP/EPM, Core System, Snowflake EDW, Data Choice) to reduce time spent on non-value add manual data aggregation work for the Finance function
  • Write and execute SQL and/or Python code proficiently to create and produce monthly and quarterly reporting and provide recommendations based on analysis
  • Aggregate data from multiple source systems to research and root causes analysis
  • Design, build, recommend and implement infrastructure for data extraction, preparation, and loading of data from a variety of sources using SQL and AWS
  • Validate data, recognize errors, and make modifications to programs to meet changing needs, and recommend changes for approval and implementation
  • Prepare, deliver and/or present methodology and modeling results for senior leadership, committees, and other business units, effectively communicating analytical insights and logical thinking
  • Participate in the training and orientation of BI Analysts
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in an analyst role, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Experience applying and developing analytical methods, including data mining techniques
  • Experience with EPM systems (i.e. Oracle EPM) preferred
  • Ability to anticipate needs and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high-volume peaks while producing high-quality work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas concisely and logically to all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical/quantitative tools such as Python, R, or SAS
  • Proficiency with data visualization/dashboarding tools (i.e. Tableau)
  • Excellent SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and VBA
  • Minimum Education: in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related field
Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $110k - $125k annually + annual bonus
