Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Engineering Technical Specialist. This role will coordinate with multiple departments and contractors to support the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of a new hypersonic ground test facility at Arnold AFB, TN.

Job Summary
Part of a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for supporting the engineering teams in the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of a new hypersonic ground test facility.
Job Duties:
Select and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
- Respond to and resolve complex measurement problems as they arise during construction and development.
- Coordinate/Report problems to senior engineering staff and construction management.
- Ensure systems are calibrated and traceable to calibration and data quality standards.
- Monitor and report progress for own assigned work tasks to the project engineer and/or project control account manager (CAM)
- Assist in the generation of Work Instructions, Hazard Analyses, and JSAs in compliance with company standards.
- Prepare complete engineering drawings or diagrams delineating equipment, engineered systems, structures and plant arrangements with sufficient detail in drawings to guide manufacturers in developing shop drawings and to guide construction in their work.
- Work under direction in the graphic preparation of 2-D drawings or 3-D CAD design models of average complexity based on information from others.
- Develop complete engineering drawings from information provided verbally, on sketches or in notes; plans related drawing sequence to convey complete engineering information.
- Make basic mathematical calculations related to the group's drawing responsibilities.
- Prepare "as-built" drawings to reflect changes to designated work during construction, operations.
- Review and check design models, drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned.
- Prepare bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the group.
- Work with engineers and other designers in the overall assignment to coordinate designs.
- Answer questions from client or construction group on design for assigned responsibility.
- Compile, maintain and access job drawing files, records, and drawing controls, as instructed.
- Communicate clearly and utilize various methods of communication.
- It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS in engineering technology degree from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of 2 years of progressive and relevant experience or any equivalent combination of applicable education and progressive and relevant experience totaling 6 years.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
- Current U. S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic technical knowledge of mechanical engineering systems, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
- Experience in engineering design, layout, drawings, industrial processes control and related disciplines.
- Developmental experience such as practical work experience in design engineering or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or other engineering/construction firms.
