POSITION SPECIFICS PennTAP seeks a Quality Control Engineer, responsible for reviewing, verifying, and improving the quality of energy audit deliverables. This includes validating site data collection, energy usage analysis, recommendations for energy conservation measures (ECMs), and final reports, ensuring they meet guidelines, project scopes, and internal quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct technical reviews of energy audit reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with PennTAP standards. Verify site assessment data, equipment inventories, and energy analysis tools for correctness. Review energy conservation measures (ECMs) for technical feasibility, savings calculations, and cost estimates. Ensure findings are clearly documented with well-supported assumptions and recommendations. Develop and maintain quality control checklists and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with technical advisors and leadership to identify and address quality issues early. Perform spot-check validations, including occasional site visits if required. Provide feedback and training to advisors to improve future data collection and analysis practices. Maintain project documentation for internal and external audits. Support continuous improvement initiatives to refine assessment processes and tools. Required Skills: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, motors, pumps, lighting, and building envelope. Familiarity with applicable standards. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None Preferred Education and Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Building Science, or related field. Experience in energy audits, building assessments, or commissioning. Experience with M&V (Measurement and Verification) Knowledge of utility incentive programs. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. CEM (Certified Energy Manager) certification. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. SALARY & BENEFITS The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
