What Can You Expect?

Operations Finance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead our financial planning and management reporting processes and provide strategic analytical support.

You will be a member of a global Operations Finance team working within a fast-paced, matrix organization supporting Global Operations for multiple lines of business. You will play a key role in the financial planning cycles while providing enhanced operational performance insights, improving analytical and reporting processes and supporting strategic business decisions.

Effective process management is a key element of the role as you will lead monthly close and financial planning activities with insightful financial analysis and ensure accuracy of financial deliverables under tight deadlines. Implementing and utilizing data analytics will also be important to drive efficiencies.

This is a hybrid position with the expectation to be onsite at our headquarters at least 8-days a month in Westbrook, ME.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • You will work closely with Operations Finance Management to lead financial planning processes. This includes preparing analytical and reporting tools, analyzing trends in plant cost performance and supporting communication of financial information to Senior Leadership.
  • You will partner with Operations and Finance teams to develop Budgets, Forecasts and the long-range financial plan through sound assumptions, judgement and analysis to ensure effective financial planning.
  • You will coordinate the monthly financial close process to ensure the reliability and integrity of financial information. This includes journal entry review and preparation, identifying and performing ad hoc financial analysis for accuracy and insights into monthly results, and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • You will drive improvements in financial processes to achieve efficiencies and enhance operational metrics to gain new insights into performance drivers and benchmark across manufacturing platforms and plants.
  • You will utilize data analytics such as PowerBi to streamline existing reporting and analysis and develop new analysis.
  • You will perform ROI and financial modeling to evaluate investments and operational initiatives and support business case development.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and audit requirements while modeling the IDEXX Purpose and Guiding Principles.

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
  • Typically 7-10+ years related experience.
  • Experience with standard costing in a Manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • ERP system experience required. SAP experience preferred.
  • Proven ability as a lead Finance business partner with a desire to learn the business.
  • Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure alignment in order to achieve business and financial results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across Finance and Operations teams.
  • Ability to mentor and support development of financial analysts.
  • Strong financial, analytical and technical accounting skills with the ability to provide effective and insightful financial analysis with linkages to operational results.
  • Strong Excel skills and analytical aptitude. Ability to translate operational drivers into clear, well-organized financial models that provide effective business decision support with clear summaries of key information for Senior Management.
  • Strong process management skills to effectively and efficiently guide teams through complicated financial planning processes, anticipate and address schedule challenges.
  • Flexibility to work well under pressure to complete multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communications, including the ability to communicate and present to Senior Management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced growth environment and flexibility to adapt to changing business needs as necessary.
  • Ability to see big picture while supporting management of key financial and operational metrics.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to ensure processes are efficient and that financial deliverables remain effective and efficient.
