POSITION SPECIFICS

The Veturi Lab (www.veturilab.org) at Penn State seeks a candidate for a Postdoctoral position to work with Dr. Sudha Veturi.

Successful candidates will work with Dr. Veturi to develop and apply new scalable statistical, computational, and machine learning methods for analyzing large-scale multi-modal datasets (e.g., multi-omic, neuroimaging, and electronic health records data) to study the risk of cognitive decline.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Genetics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, or equivalent

  • Proficiency in R/RStudio and relevant statistical packages for data visualization and analysis

  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux platforms, such as basic shell scripting

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strives to expand and improve upon current skills and knowledge, shows a high level of integrity, communicates clearly, and models collaboration and teamwork

Candidates with proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, C/C++, or equivalent will be preferred (but not required).
