What you'll do You will be responsible for overseeing software professionals in the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of commercial enterprise software products. You will build and manage high-performing teams of software professionals through effective hiring, coaching, support, and performance management. You will coach and mentor software professionals in software development best practices, procedures, and concepts and pave the way for their professional development. You will support project teams on active projects by helping them overcome roadblocks to success. Evaluate the quality of requirements, designs, code, tests, and processes. Identify, communicate, and help resolve project risk factors such as dependencies and conflicts. Facilitate conflict resolution, whether of a technical nature or personnel nature, within a team or between teams. Build and foster relationships both inside and outside of the development organization. Drive strategic change across the organization to improve development operations. Identify and assign software professionals to development projects based upon expertise, availability, career alignment, etc. Foster the teaching/learning of functional skills beyond assigned functional responsibilities. Instill and nurture a sense of purpose that aligns with the company values and mission Who you are You are confidential; able to protect confidentiality of student and district data. You are able to demonstrate commitment to quality, commitment to timelines and proficiency in standard software development concepts, practices, and procedures. You are proactive and communicative; maintain transparency amongst internal stakeholders in both written and verbal. You are one that keeps your team aligned with the approved software lifecycle development methodologies. You are able to multi-task among different development activities and able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent software releases. You are a self-starter and well organized. Your skill-set You will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and/or 10 years industry-related experience managing software professionals creating commercial software. You have strong communication and presentation skills. You will have experience with Agile development methodologies. You will have technical competence in software development and automated testing environments.
