Our Client is seeking a GIS Analyst to help with their compliance team for pipeline operations for their midstream business. Candidate does not have to be onsite working 8-5 but needs to be self-paced, self directed where the work can be done remotely as long as the candidate can come in to the Houston office to show demos or participate in hands-on training. The purpose of this role is to satisfy DOT regulations that are regulated by state and federal government that requires our Client to do class location studies measuring the population density of communities adjacent to the Client's pipeline. There are pipelines that have been in the ground for years but with increasing population, the Client need to refresh the data. Therefore, they are refreshing these studies of structures based on the number of houses, churches, schools, etc... to compare what that information was previous mapped to what it looks like now. Candidate will be working through data sets, maps, aerial surveys, images to determine what should be labeled as a house, a barn, a school, etc., for example. Must have 2+ years of experience utilizing any type of software systems where Esri GIS Software is preferred because they will be working with coordinates and navigating within software. Job Requirements - Document work progress. - Assist with a DOT compliance class location study. - Reviewing GIS ESRI pipeline maps, NPMS mapping aerial imagery, and county property tax databases to identify adjacent structures within company gas pipelines. - Categorize those structures to identify which buildings are likely intended for human occupancy. - Analyzing that data and validating adjacent structure type identifying and validating adjacent pipelines for ownership and operating type. - Documentation responsibilities include recording GIS coordinates and type of structure for each pipeline segment. Pre-employment background check and drug test will be administered upon candidate's offer acceptance. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr.
