Intern, Retail Operations Analyst (Cash)

What You Can Expect

As our Cash Application Analyst Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the Cash Application team with the processing and reconciliation of incoming payments. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in financial operations, offering exposure to real-world cash application processes within a fast-paced corporate environment. The position will run from June 2025 to August 2025, and is based in Houston, TX, reporting to the Retail Operations Billing Manager.

• Gain hands-on experience by applying incoming payments to customer accounts and invoices with accuracy and attention to detail
• Develop analytical skills while investigating and resolving discrepancies in payments or customer account records
• Assist with daily financial operations by reconciling bank transactions and identifying payment exceptions
• Collaborate closely with the accounting team to support and improve cash application processes, gaining exposure to cross-functional workflows
• Support compliance activities by working with the Unclaimed Property team to ensure items are properly distributed and accounted for
• Contribute to month-end close procedures, preparing relevant documentation and gaining insight into key financial reporting processes
• Enhance communication skills through interaction with customers and internal teams to address and resolve payment-related issues

What You'll Bring

• You are currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related filed
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems, experience with ERP software
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Compensation

Hourly Range: $23.50 - $33.50 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
