Overview
Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director. Is responsible for performance and competency of care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations. Qualifications Certifications: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) within 10 weeks - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Education: Associate's Degree: Respiratory Therapy; Certificate of Completion: Respiratory Therapy, Work Experience: Respiratory therapy Responsibilities Disassembles, washes, rinses ,dries and packages respiratory equipment Effectively evaluate the results of patient respiratory care delivered per care plans. Functions as a role model in Respiratory Care demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, select technical skills and appropriate knowledge base. Prepares and tests respiratory therapy equipment for proper and safe operation and checks equipment in use and on units for proper operations and routine service. Reports malfunctioning equipment to manager. Processes and maintains respiratory equipment. Will accurately chart on the respiratory flow sheets in the EMR and on the care plans. Will also charge accurately in the EMR. Completes assessments on ventilator patients and all other patients on respiratory care services. Recommends timely interventions and the need for further treatment or referral in the participant's respiratory care regimen. Records procedures, patient response and compliance with sleep therapy documentation requirements and consults with Respiratory Care Practitioner any adverse effects and compliance with equipment. Relays same information in writing to physician. Evaluates patients for routine respiratory care therapy on the inpatient units Evaluates patients for routine respiratory care therapy for patient in the Emergency room. Evaluates patients for advanced respiratory care therapy for patients in the ICU's Obtains and analyses blood gases.. Arterial, Venous and Capillary Participates on all Transport teams. NICU, PEDS and Adult Meet all requirements of Clinical Ladder for Level 3 therapist Assist with stocking respiratory care related supplies on the inpatient care units Assist with cleaning of all respiratory care related equipment. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $27.48per hour - $45.89per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
