Description

The People & Culture Partner will provide consultative human resources services to Agency employees and managers and will actively support Agency, department, and program-level strategic plans.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and Other Characteristics



  • Serves as a trusted advisor to managers and staff on a broad range of human resources matters.
  • Maintains strong interpersonal relationships with Agency leaders, managers employees and other relevant parties that impact Agency programs and
  • Uses a deep understanding of work processes, policies and industry best practices to support both Agency and departmental strategic plans and
  • Identifies issues and initiates resolutions in line with Agency policies and in support of business direction.


Employee and Labor Relations:



  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues in a union environment including providing guidance to management.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements employee engagement and retention
  • Provides support and advice to managers and employees on the interpretation, application, enforcement, and compliance, of Agency policies and procedures.
  • Leads investigations of employee relations matters and develops appropriate next steps.
  • Advises managers on labor relations issues and helps employees understand the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Coordinates employee recognition and appreciation


    Compliance:



    • Ensure that all HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable federal, state, local laws collective bargaining agreement and are consistent with company culture and values, providing training to staff to ensure compliance.
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, including but not FMLA, ADA, FLSA, paid time off, and I-9.
    • Provides support during audits to ensure all requested People & Culture/Human Resources documentation is provided in a timely manner.


    Development & Performance Management:



    • Provides expert advice, coaching, and assistance to employees and
    • Coaches managers on how to effectively utilize performance management tools (for example, Performance Improvement Plans) and conflict resolution tools.
    • Supports performance review.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements:



    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of four (4) years of Human Resources generalist
    • This position requires site visits to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation; a reliable method of travel to reach different sites in the northern Chicago metropolitan area is needed.


    Preferred:



    • Experience working with unions.
    • Experience working in a complex organization.
    • Prior experience in a Health services or non-profit environment.
