In the role of a Media and Learning Services Support Technician I you will be working in our Finance and Administration Department.

Summary

Working in a team environment, this person will provide high level of customer services and technical support to faculty, staff and students and maintain all audio visual and other related equipment requirements for both the conference rooms and students teaching spaces at the College. This position and along with the other team members will be responsible for remote monitoring of all classroom and events, providing remote classroom assistance, establishing and monitoring video conferences, dispatching in-room classroom support technicians and monitoring lecture capture recordings. The position will work in a team environment that provides various institutional media and production services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Set-up, connect, troubleshoot and program all of the audio visual and instructional equipment, technology and supplies for classroom, conference rooms, lecture halls and teaching labs at the College. Ensure proper preventive maintenance is performed on audio visual equipment and the equipment is maintained.
  • This position and along with the other team members will be responsible for remote monitoring of all classroom and events, providing remote classroom assistance, establishing and monitoring video conferences, dispatching in-room classroom support technicians and monitoring lecture capture recordings. Utilize sophisticated equipment including broadcast video switchers and robotic PTZ cameras to record events and classes from the Media Services Center. Monitor tickets and maintain logs.
  • Provide instructions to faculty, staff, students and guests who uses the audio visual equipment, collaborative tools (video, web and voice services) and other supporting classroom technology. Be present at start of lectures or events to ensure audio visual equipment and technology is successfully working.
  • Maintain the content capture solution at the College. Ensure medical school and event capture schedules are capturing during a scheduled event and uploading to the Student Learning Management System. The position live web streaming in the classrooms and events. This will include entering the medical school schedules on a weekly basis. Provide videotaping of special events and some minor editing.
  • Approve, confirm and negotiate room (as needed) requests in the Resources Scheduling System reserving rooms and equipment for lectures, labs, classes, conferences, seminars, exams, etc. Maintain and update the Room Scheduling System to add, modify and change conference room information. Import the medical school and graduate school student class schedules. Provide training to our users.
  • Provide functional support for the enterprise and educational solutions. This includes the following: Content Capture Solution (Panopto), Polycom Video Conferencing Solution, Enterprise Room Scheduling System (EMS), and Digital Display (FourWinds).
  • Interface with Campus Operations, Education and College departments to assure proper set up of furniture or special equipment requested in the rooms.
  • Provide technical support to students.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Knowledge of set-up and A/V equipment and technology within the classroom and conference room in an academic setting.
  • Knowledge of audio, video production and editing technologies.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

Appropriate experience may be substituted for edcuation on an equivalent basis.

Minimum Required Education: Associate Degree in Communications, Audio Visual or Computer Services

Minimum Required Experience: 2 years of related experience

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Audio Visual or Computer Services

Preferred Experience: 3+ years of related experience (preferred)
